“Friday, Saturday, Sunday” Photo Exhibition at Edirne Synagogue

Edirne, one of the cities which is well-known for its inter-faith tolerance, hosted a special photo exhibition “Friday, Saturday, Sunday”, on January 29th. The name of the exhibition “Friday, Saturday, Sunday” represents the three days which are significant and sacred for three religions.

 The opening of the exhibition was held at Edirne Grand Synagogue, which after being renovated hosted various arts events including exhibitions, concerts and private functions. The works of five photographers from different religions and sects are displayed at the exhibition. The exhibition will be open until February 22nd.

Vice President of Turkish Jewish Community Moris Levi, Deputy Governor Beyazit Tanc, Deputy Mayors Dr. Ertugrul Tanrikulu and Cigdem Gegeoglu, General Directorate of Foundations District Manager Osman Guneren, President of Edirne Publicity and Tourism Association Bulent Bacioglu, Greek Consul in Edirne Evi Charitidou,  Priest from Sveti Georgi Church Alexander Cikirik, Orthodox Metropolitan Bishop Amfilohios, Orestiada Arch Priest Bartelemous and a large number guests attended the opening.

Photographers Alberto Modiano, Berge Arabian, Emine Ulkerim, Migirdic Arzivyan and Niko Mangini were also present during the opening ceremony. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Moris Levi explained the importance of the city of Edirne for Turkish Jewish Community.
