Turkey and Israel’s decision for rapprochement after six years will go down in history as a significant step taken towards stability and eventually peace in the turbulent Middle East region.
Turkey and Israel’s decision for rapprochement after six years will go down in history as a significant step taken towards stability and eventually peace in the turbulent Middle East region.
As the only two democracies of the region, neither the two countries nor the problematic region’s political climate that needed common sense and peace benefit from the two countries’ strained relationship.
History of world politics lists leaders who are pragmatic and who can compromise for the sake of their people and the region’s welfare, as successful. We hope this historic first step taken boldly by Turkish and Israeli leadership will be carried on further.
It is obvious that the actual normalization between the two countries will require decisive policies, mutual bona fide and time. In this context, we are hoping that both countries’ leadership will move forward by turning a deaf ear to the opposing parties who are trying to strand them and by focusing on both the objectives of this deal’s humanitarian aspects and peace .
Hereby, we are hoping that Anti-Semitism which was mostly driven by the anti-Israeli climate will start to decline in our country.
