Jeff Hakko donates his underwater collection to Turkish Naval Forces
Businessman, Jeff Hakko, a sea and underwater aficionado is donating his unique underwater collection that consists of 200 pieces of historical diving equipment to the Turkish Naval Forces to be displayed at Naval Museum.

Those who’ve met Jeff Hakko, know how he is a true sea and underwater aficionado and a premium collector of historical diving equipment. He is also known to be passionately attached and devoted to his collection.
In the last couple of years, Hakko has started a smooth transition to retirement. He now enjoys the extra time he has at the sea and under water which he describes as “deep blue world” on his boat that he specifically designed as a complete diving platform.
Furthermore, he is trying to enhance and enrich his unique collection. He has mentioned that enhancing his collection is getting harder everyday due to forgeries and the idea that this huge collection is lying in his home is disturbing his mind. It seemed that he was concerned about the future of his collection. At our times together, he started talking about how he put together his collection after so much effort and how it is not right to keep it locked up in his home. He also said that he couldn’t expect from anyone to look out for his collection after he’s gone. He also told me that getting an appraisal and selling his collection is not something he is inclined to do, since he is concerned that after the sale, his collection could be divided and allocated thus ruining all his efforts. As a diver having shared the serenity of the underwater world with him, I really sympathized with his concerns.
As one would expect, Jeff Hakko, who is one of the most perfectionist, meticulous and elaborative people you can ever meet, would find the answer to his problem all by himself.
Jeff is donating his spectacular collection to the Turkish Naval Forces to be displayed at Naval Museum.
About his donation Hakko said, “I am very pleased and relieved to have donated my collection to the Turkish Naval Forces to be displayed at Naval Museum, knowing that it will be preserved by experts. Thereby, I feel as if all the difficulties I had faced with during the 27 years I was putting together my collection, is now behind me. I feel overjoyed to share my enthusiasm and I feel that I am finally crowning my enthusiasm and pride.”
