While the number of diagnosed cases was over ten percent of the number of administered tests in the last 24 hours, 4 days of lockdown have been announced for the upcoming weekend.

The Minister of Health declared that of the 39,703 tests administered, 4,674 people have diagnosed positive, 123 people have lost their lives, and 1.454 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, due to the complications related to COVID-19. The total number of positive cases has reached 90,980 and the total number of lives lost has reached 2,140.

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca via his Twitter account stating that 1,454 more patients have recovered said, "We have to be at least as persistent as the virus. We will win this fight with our health care army's devotion and our persistence in obedience to precautions."

Lockdown

Ministry of Interior sent a statutory memorandum concerning the lockdown measures that will be applied on April 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th in 31 cities to the 81 cities' governorships.

To keep daily life as normal as possible and since Ramadan will be starting, the grocery stores and mini-markets (bakkal) will be open between hours 08:00-23:00 on April 21st Tuesday and 22nd Wednesday. On April 23rd Thursday and 24th Friday when there will be a defined lockdown, the grocery stores and mini-markets will be able to operate between the hours 09:00-14:00.
