President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the limited lockdown will last for 3 days.

President Erdoğan, during the announcement he made after the cabinet meeting organized via video conference from his Huber Residence in Tarabya, stated, "The more we reduce human mobility, the faster and more effectively we can break the pandemic's contagion chain. Having a break from the activities in places where people are present in crowds like schools, some businesses, and sports facilities, has contributed greatly to controlling the outbreak. We are planning to continue the weekend lockdowns until after the Ramazan Holiday, to keep the well being in our country. This weekend we will also implement lockdown for 3 days in 31 cities, including May 1st."
