´Jewish Traces in Balat´ Tour

During this trip, the participants will follow the traces of the Ottoman and Turkish Jews on these lands, from the Byzantine period to our day. At the same time, they will have the chance to spend a very special day on the tour visiting some historic synagogues in Balat that will open their doors to visitors for the first time while tasting Sephardic delicacies.

The tour program with the Istipol Synagogue, one of the important wooden synagogues; wooden houses of Jewish Heritage with Star of David; the Ahrida Synagogue remaining from the Romaniot Jews; the Yambol Synagogue, one of the most authentic synagogues with paintings on its dome; the remains of the Thessalonika, Eliyahu, and Çana Synagogues and many more, is promising the participants a nostalgic journey.

The tour where also delicacies of the Sephardic cuisine will be served during the free lunch break, will continue with a Haliç tour on the ferry, and end with the visit to the Quincentenial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews.
