Torah mantles that cover the Torah scrolls are made of precious fabrics and ornated with embroidery or silver accessories. These mantles are used to dress the scrolls when they are not being used.
This specific Torah mantle is from Rodosto, Tekirdağ, dated 1865. On it, a detail like a ray of light on the Ten Commandments plate is created, using the decorative metal dots application embroidery technique.
