The Harvard GlobalWE Essay Contest was established in 2015, to invite students to think critically about the status and rights of women, in order to highlight and raise awareness about issues concerning women's empowerment worldwide, including, but not limited to, education, political rights, freedom from violence, economic empowerment, and women's healthcare.
In this year's contest Sezin Halila, an Ulus Jewish School (UÖMO) 11th grader, has been awarded the 'Certificate of Excellence' award, in the Harvard GlobalWE Essay Contest themed "What is the biggest challenge facing women and girls in your country today?".
