The presentation of the book 'Muestros Dezaparesidos (Our Losses): Memorial of the Judeo-Espagnols Deported from France', which tells the story of Sephardic Jews exiled from France, was held on the 13th of February, by Corry Guttstadt. Guttstadt is the General Director of the University of Hamburg Türkei-Europa-Zentrum and a researcher in the Verein Aktives Museum in Berlin.

More than 5300 Sephardic Jews in France were deported and killed during the Holocaust by the Germans and the Vichy regime police.

The Memorial Book of the Judeo-Espagnols deported from France (Mémorial des Judéo-Espagnols déportés de France), was created as a result of a collective work led by the editorial committee supported by a group of volunteers, researchers, and historians.

It includes the names of 5,300 Sephardic Jews who were deported from France, killed and shot inside the camps in France, as well as the biographies of more than 80 exiles supplemented by testimonies in French and Judezmo (Judeo-Espagnol) languages.

The historical sections in this book, which is much more than a memorial book, examines the history of the Sephardic Jews who had lived in France. The book, deals with the lives of survivors after their liberation and also includes the effects of deportation on families and society. Moreover, the book consists of an innovative chapter on the participation and roles of Sephardic Jews in the resistance against the invader and the Vichy regime.
