The famous satirical magazine's placing President Tayyip Erdoğan on its cover led to many responses. The unethical depiction of President Erdoğan on the cover received a lot of reactions on social media.

Turkish Jewish Community also condemned the magazine. Turkish Jewish Community in the message they broadcasted in French via Twitter declared:

"We strongly condemn the disgusting and insulting publication of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo targeting our president and religious beliefs. It is unacceptable to consider this kind of human rights violation, as 'humor and freedom of expression.'

This kind of publications lacking morality and decency, only serves to spread cultural racism and hatred, and plants hostility."

Turkish Communications Director Fahrettin Altun in his Twitter message he broadcasted in English, expressed, "French President Macron’s anti-Muslim agenda is bearing fruit," and added, "We condemn this most disgusting effort by this publication to spread its cultural racism and hatred."

Turkish Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın said, "Twisting freedom of expression into hostility of religion and belief, can only be a product of a sick mentality. Everyone with common sense should condemn and reject this hideous publication."
