"Purim is One of Our Historically and Socially Most Important Holidays"
Chief Rabbi Isak Haleva

"My beloved fellow Jews,

Even though we will not be able to observe the Taanit Ester [day of fast] on Thursday Adar 13/February 25th, celebrate Purim starting from that evening with the unity and joy as always, and we will not be able to pray Megila at our synagogues because of the pandemic this year, with all the safety precautions taken and the organizations made, we will be able to share our joy of the Purim festival besides observing our religious necessities via the internet, participating online, sending gifts and necessities via our community's associations of solidarity.

As we all know Purim, as one of the historically and socially most important holidays, stands as a chance to perceive the workings of the divine order, if we shall contemplate in depth. This intuition shall lead us to always have faith in the divine help, no matter the time and circumstances.

Resting assured that you will celebrate Purim also with this aspect, I wish that you may celebrate many more Purims with your loved ones, in health and prosperity.

Purim Sameah, with my prayers."
