5th International Conference on Israel and Judaism Studies
The 5th annual International Conference on Israel and Judaism Studies (ICIJS´21) is being organized by ´Israiliyat: Journal of Israeli and Judaic Studies´ on December 6-10, 2021.The 5th edition of the International Conference on Israel and Judaism Studies (ICIJS´21), organized by 'Israiliyat: Journal of Israeli and Judaic Studies' in collaboration with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, will be held online, on December 6-10, 2021.
The theme of this year's conference is 'Israel and Judaism Studies in a Rapidly Changing Region and World'. Not limited to this theme, the scope of the conference is including all the subareas of Israel and Judaism Studies.
The conference aims to address the general issues relating to how external and internal events and processes influence the Israelis and Jews, and the Israeli and Judaic studies seeking to find new methodical and theoretical approaches to understand them. In the context of the conference, issues such as the Abraham Accords vs. the Oslo Accords, the COVID-19 pandemic vs. 2008-2009 financial crisis, post-Netanyahu era vs. change bloc, secularization vs. religionization, right-wing populism vs. participatory democracy, start-up nation vs. occupying nation will be addressed.
In the previous years, the conference had been held in different cities of Turkey such as Konya, Izmir, and Bandırma.
