"Each Day Do One Kind Thing for Another Human Being" - Interview with Karen-Eileen Gordon Şalom Magazine's Editor-in-Chief Suzan Nana Trablus's latest book 'Daddy, why do they call us dönmeh?' was translated into and published in English.
The book published by Varlik Publishing is Suzan Nana Tarablus's fourth book. In her first three books, the Jews of Istanbul talked about the places they had lived in, the neighbors they had had, and the jobs they had worked in. Tarablus's latest book is about the group of Sabbatean crypto-Jews in Thessaloniki, Ottoman Empire, who had converted to Islam, but kept their Jewish faith secretly. In the book are the recordings of interviews with 27 witnesses from the Jewish community defined as 'Dönmeh', 'Sabbatean', or 'Salonican'.
