An Impressive Exhibition at the Grand Synagogue of Edirne
The 'Edirne - Architectural Heritage At Risk' Exhibition, which was worked on and published as a book last year by the Association for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (KMKD), was opened at the Foundation Culture and Art House placed at the back of the Grand Synagogue of Edirne, on Wednesday, November 16th. The published study and exhibition display the historical artifacts and architecture around Edirne.
At the exhibition opening where the Governor of Edirne Hüseyin Kürşat Karabıyık, the Mayor of Edirne Recep Gürkan, the Edirne Regional Director of Foundations Ahmet Saraç were present, Director of National Palaces Dr. Yasin Yıldız, and scientists including the Science Board Member Prof. Dr. Sadettin Ökten attended as guests of the governor.
The exhibition was visited along with the explanations of Dr. Inci Türkoğlu who has contributed greatly to the realization of the exhibition. Governor Karabıyık, recognizing all the works, impressed everyone. During the opening where also Mustafa Akçagöz who had carried out the field studies was present, the founding director Prof. Eva Şarlak made a speech on behalf of the Association for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (KMKD). Prof. Şarlak expressed her view on this study as well as the studies of the association. The exhibition may be visited until the end of November.
