Plaque and Commemoration at Terezin for the Victims of Turkish Origin
A plaque in memory of the Nazi camp Terezin´s Turkish victims was placed at Terezin which is in the Czech Republic in our day. December 26, 2022
With the initiative of Egemen Bağiş, Turkey's Ambassador to Prague, and after a year of meticulous work, the Republic of Turkey placed a plaque to commemorate the Turkish victims who had lost their lives in the Terezin camp.
A ceremony was organized to place the plaque in the Kolumbarium Museum by the Turkish Embassy in Prague.
Meaningful Concert
Following the Plaque Placing Ceremony, the pianist and composer Renan Koen who has done extensive and essential research on the Terezin composers, performed a meaningful concert in the ghetto part of Terezin.
Ambassadors from many countries, especially Germany and Israel, historians, and some Turkish citizens living in Prague attended the ceremony.

The Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews is opening an exhibition of Ketubbot (Jewish wedding contracts), some from forgotten corners of our homes, some as already discovered works of art, some from the walls of the collectors, some from the Chief Rabbinate Collection, on November 7th, at Schneidertempel Arts Center, after they have been cleaned and maintained.
