Turkey will be going to the polls on Sunday, May 14th, both to elect the new term parliament members and its president for the 13th time.

On Sunday Turkey will be choosing one of the three presidential candidates.

The candidate of the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) formed by AK Party (Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is backed by the Great Unity Party (Büyük Birlik Partisi), Free Cause Party (Hüda-Par), New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi), Democratic Left Party (Demokratik Sol Parti), Great Turkey Party (Büyük Türkiye Partisi), and True Path Party (Doğru Yol Partisi).

The presidential candidate of the National Alliance (Millet İttifakı) formed by Republican People's Party (Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi), Good Party (İyi Parti), Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi), Democracy and Progress Party (Deva Partisi), and Democrat Party (Demokrat Parti) is Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Sinan Oğan who had entered the elections as an independent candidate, later became the candidate of the Ancestral Alliance (ATA İttifakı), being supported by Victory Party (Zafer Partisi), Justice Party (Adalet Partisi), My Country Party (Ülkem Partisi), and Turkey Alliance Party (Türkiye İttifakı Partisi). The election's final candidate was the Homeland Party's Chairperson Muharrem İnce. However, he has withdrawn from the election yesterday with a last-minute decision.

On Sunday the voting will start at 08:00 hrs. and the polls will close at 17:00 hrs. The polls abroad, in 75 countries and 156 representatives, were closed on Thursday, May 9th.

It has been stated that a total of 64 million 113 thousand 941 voters, of whom 60 million 697 thousand 843 in Turkey, will cast their votes in the 28th term parliamentary and presidential elections. In the case that the presidential elections need a second round to be completed, the elections will be held again on May 28th.
