Nisya Allovi on the Association of European Jewish Museums Board of Directors
Nisya Isman Allovi, the Director and Curator of the Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews, is chosen to be on this year´s board of directors of the Association of European Jewish Museums (AEJM).Nisya Isman Allovi is chosen as the board of directors member of the Association of European Jewish Museums (AEJM), the non-governmental organization which gathers the Jewish Museums of Europe under one roof.
The Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews Director and Curator Nisya Isman Allovi was chosen for this essential duty during the association's annual conference in Berlin at the beginning of June. Allovi said, "I am happy to be involved in the network of museums in Europe, to be able to work with museum representatives, cooperate via building bridges among us, preserve the tangible and intangible Jewish heritage while supporting each other, and create a productive and meaningful discourse on Jewish culture tradition and history."
The Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews joined the Association of European Jewish Museums (AEJM) in 2002. AEJM has gathered 64 different Jewish museums as active members since it had been founded in 1989. The 2004 annual conference of the association was organized in Istanbul.
