The famous pianist and soprano Renan Koen gave an online concert during the January 27th Holocaust Commemoration event organized by the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Directorate of Communications. During the online memorial event where also President Tayyip Erdoğan had been present, Koen played two pieces.

The first piece played by Koen was the Romany song 'Mamo Mamo (Mother Mother)' which had been sung by the Romanes in the Auschwitz Birkenau death camp. Then she played the Ladino song 'Arvoles Yoran Por Luvya (Trees cry for rain, and I cry for your eyes my darling)' that had been sung by the Sephardic Jews from Thessaloniki in Auschwitz. 

Renan Koen's concert took place on the weremember.gov.tr website, which has been opened in memory of genocide victims for the International Holocaust Remembrance Day by the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Directorate of Communications.
